Christina Burns

Director

Christina brings over a decade of experience in program planning, health and wellbeing, and supporting vulnerable populations. She has held progressive leadership roles in both the not-for-profit and public sectors, with a focus on seniors services, caregiver support, and community health. Throughout her career, Christina has worked closely with health partners and stakeholders to expand access to respite care, dementia services, and caregiver supports, addressing critical gaps in community care.


Currently a Supervisor in York Region’s Seniors Community Services, Christina has also led organization-wide wellbeing initiatives through a leadership secondment, focusing on staff resilience, recognition, and psychological safety. She is passionate about creating inclusive, evidence-based solutions that improve quality of life for older adults and strengthen caregiver supports.



Christina holds an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences degree from Western University, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Recreation Therapy from Georgian College, and a Master of Health Administration in Community Care from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson). Christina grew up in Orillia and has since returned to the community, where she is proud to contribute both professionally and through volunteer leadership.
